New Etsy Finds: Part 4

Its been a while since I've posted about my recent Etsy finds, but recently, there have been such great things on Rhapsody Attic and Nanny's Rose, that I had to tell you about my favorite ones!!  I'm especially loving the bright blue patio furniture and the china plate!

What great items have you found on Etsy lately?

Entry Tables

Its the first thing you see when you walk in the house, but people rarely spend time focusing on picking out their end tables.  Finding a great sofa can often be incredibly pricey, but you can find a great end table for under 100$.  Matched with a mirror, flower arrangement and end table lamps, an end table can really set the tone for a room.  Check out the awesome affordable options I found below.

1. This Demilune Sofa Table with a Bottom Shelf from FurnitureOnTheWeb.com would make the perfect entry table.  Plus, look what it has- Nailhead trimming!!  (its on the far right under the mirror)

2.  This Ornate Leaf Black and Brown Sofa Table, also from FurnitureOnTheWeb.com, is another great option for an entry table.  I think it might be a little big for my particular entry way; however, I thought I'd share it with you all. (left back)

3. This Paloma Marble Topped entry table is magnificent.  I think I may use it as a sofa table.  Check it out on FurnitureOnTheWeb.com

4. This Oak Finish Marble Top is even prettier then the Paloma Table above.  I really like the tanner colored marble, I think it looks beautiful if you have wood floors.  FurnitureOnTheWeb.com

5. Love love love this Sebastian Bronze Finish Console Table from FurnitureOnTheWeb.com  is a picture of Tuscan perfection!! Plus, the price isn't bad either!!

6.  This Mirrored Dalton Table is very mod chic.  Since I'm always posting about Tuscan items, I thought it was only fair to post about some modern items!

7.  Also loving this Iron Circles Half Moon Table from Overstock.com.  Normally, entry tables require vases, lamps and decorative frames to dress up their boring wood frame, but this table looks gorgeous all on its own!!

8. This Country Cottage Foyer Table looks like something I saw at Weirs last month, but at under $100 dollars, its a must buy1

9. This Prentice Sofa Table would be perfect in any entry way.  I adore the fleur de lis detailing at the bottom rod iron.

10. A great traditional entry table! I love the classic style and the stained wood.
11. Another Rod Iron Entry Table!  (can you tell I love this style?)

Where did you find your entry table?

Wildin' out

This week, my boyfriend is going home for the start of deer season.  I've finally started getting used to the idea of dating someone who goes hunting, but when Andrew told me he was looking for a deer head to put on a wall, I sort of backtracked a little.  I mean, I understand boys like sports and shooting stuff, but bringing a dead animal head into your house and putting it on display?!??  I can't lie- it definitely brought out my inner Peta.  Whenever I think of hunting, I think of my grandfather's study, with his cheetah, deer, and lions on display.  When most people think of antlers and mounted animals in the home, its generally in a masculine setting, in the boy's den, a library, or a study.  Is it possible to bring deer mounts into the home and still keep the room looking feminine?  As I began looking through my archive of saved photos, I was shocked to find antlers placed in unexpected ways.  While I may not be ready to shoot my first deer, I certainly wouldn't turn down the necklace below!!

Diamonds and Antlers?! I just found my new hunting apparel from 1st Dibs!!!!
A (very expensive) Antler Chandelier would look beautiful in the dinning room of an avid hunting family

I adore these cruelty free Antler Lamps

Loving the woodsy antler vibe these beds have to them

I saved this photo under 'dream kitchen' ages ago, I never even noticed the antelope mounted on the wall!

I love the pair of antlers above the door to this panty- what a great subtle touch!

This guy definitely went over board with the chandeliers, mirrors.  But I like the enthusiasm with mounted deer in the mix of everything!

If you still don't want a dead animal on the wall, What about a live elephant  and zebra outside your front door?  Talk about a conversation starter when you have a party!!

Halloween Decor

My favorite part of any holiday is hanging festive decorations around my house.  I store a tubberware bins for each holiday in our storage closet.  Last year I found these darling candy corn and dangling spider lights that I used to frame the outside of my console table and dinning room table.  Then I hung black and orange garland from the chandelier in my dinning space.  But this Halloween I'm throwing a costume dinner party at my house so I want to go over the top with decorations to set the mood for the party.  I ordered some great affordable decorations at West Elm and Peir 1.  Check out my favorite ones below!

How do you decorate for Halloween?

1. Pumpkin Rug; My current halloween rug is getting a little worn after 4 years, but I'm excited to sport this new shag rug in my entry way
2.Wall Decor; I'm a sucker for goofy festive signs like this and they always make great conversation starters.  I hang them from doors and prop them up on empty counter space.
3.Candle Holder These tea light holders remind me of the christmas display settings my mom puts up on our fireplace mantle.  I think these would make a great center piece in lieu of flowers
4.Glitter Spray; I place glitterspray in clear vases filed with black and orange stones (check out pet or craft stores for affordable options).  I place 3-4 vases of different height as centerpieces on tables on my dinning room table.
5. Hanging Bats; What better way to create a spooky entry way then to hang these glitter bats from the ceiling in a front hallway?!
 6. Halloween Masks; I like making fun place settings, but most options you see in Martha Steward are always too expensive for my college student budget.  I can't wait to place one of these on each persons plate.  Plus, it makes an easy fix for anyone who doesn't come dressed in theme!
 7. Glitter Skulls  These glitter skulls look so fabulous on my coffee table and mantle- I almost want to leave them up year round!

My favorite decoration this year?  The pumpkins picked out from a pumpkin patched and carved a few days ago.  Not only is carving pumpkins so much fun, but our freshly roasted pumpkin seeds are my new go to snack!

Bringing Some Fashion into the Home

There's nothing that cheers me up more than flipping through the most recent issue of Vogue on my coffee table after a long day.  Something about couture and amazing jewelry can make any day better.  I love the idea of bringing fashion into the home in unexpected ways.  I'm inspired every time I visit my friend Alex's house and oogle over the framed covers that decorate her bathroom walls and have been looking for something like that for my bedroom.  Plus what could be more inspiring than looking at your favorite editorials when getting ready each morning?

When I stumbled upon Kelly Smith's amazing Etsy shop, Birdy & Me, I found the perfect thing to fill the blank wall in my closet.  Her fashion inspired watercolor paintings feature fabulous models and amazing designer clothes- in perfect detail.  I can't frame my copy of Chanel and the Beast to hang it, my closet has never been more fabulous!

I love this painting of Natasha Poly at last years D&G Show
Who couldn't use a little more Chanel in their life?!

Check out Kelly's store here.

Gifts for the Hostest with the Mostest

A friend recently sent me the link for Olive and Coco and I loved locking through their site.  They make such innovative flower arrangements- I'm so boring when it comes to flower arrangements, I tend to stick to white lilies hydrangeas.  I think flower arrangements generally tend to look tacky, but I love the organic textures of each of Olive and Coco's arrangements.  I'm visiting my boyfriend's family for the Thanksgiving Holiday and I think one of these arrangements would be the perfect hostess gift!  You can find Olive and Coco's website here.

Check out a few of my favorite arrangements below.  What do you normally bring as a hostess guest when visiting friends/family?

I love pomegranates in fall bouquets

Even though a colorful flower bouquet is beautiful, I love giving plants as gifts.  They're so easy to take care of, and they last longer than cut flowers.

Dream House!

With graduation coming up, I've started thinking about growing up and entering the Real World.  Whenever someone mentions the "real world," I always picture the ominous Law and Order dun dun following right after it.  But entering the real world doesn't always have to be a terrible thing.

One of the things I'm definitely looking forward to is getting a backyard again.  After talking to my parents, I've started thinking about investing in a house.  Not only is the idea of a pool and my own garden so exciting, but twice the room to decorate and design?  Count me in!!  There's nothing I love more than coming up with new ideas to distract me from studying, and planning a fun new house is so much fun!

Of course, when I look at Realtor.com, I find my dream home immediately!   Its totally under budget (leaving room for fun furniture!) and look how precious it is.  I'm loving the way she decorated all of the rooms.  The knobs on all of the kitchen cabinets are darling, plus the backyard has more than enough space to build a pool.  Pool parties at dream casa?  Count me in!!

I love the front entrance with the connected garage

Loving the hydrangeas everywhere!

Hello future pool area!  Where's my pina colada?!

"Baby, its cold outside!"

The first chilly day of fall always gets me thinking about the winter holidays.  I love breaking out all of my winter coats and boots, but my absolute favorite part of Christmas is.... PRESENTS!!!
Stores have already started putting up their Christmas Displays and it got me thinking about whats going to be on my Christmas list this year.  Unfortunately, my top Christmas gift can't be found inside department stores, because....

I want a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Puppy!!!!

Just look at how precious they are!  Even the mommy cavaliers are just as pretty as the puppies!  What's on your Christmas List this year?
