Bringing Tiffany's into the Home

I was watching Breakfast at Tiffany's and every time I see it, I can't help but oogle over her Pearl Necklace.  Something about pearls always seems to class up an outfit and it got me thinking... could pearl accents have the same effect in the home or should pearls stay in the jewelry box?  So I started researching pearl accent pieces and mother of pearl  embellished furniture.   The answer?  Yes, and No.  Some of the items I found, the chandeliers, the picture frames, the chair and tiles, would look magnificent in any room, but others can look kitschy and over the top.  Pearl embellishments in the home are just like costume jewelry sometimes it looks incredible (hello Breakfast at Tiffany's) and sometimes its best left for children's dress up.
